Social Skills Training in ABA Therapy

Social Skills Training, grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), is a structured and supportive service designed to help individuals learn and practice the skills needed to interact successfully with others. This therapy is beneficial for individuals, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who find it challenging to understand social cues, engage in conversations, and build meaningful relationships.

Building Connections and Confidence

Our Social Skills Training programs are designed to create a fun, engaging, and safe environment where individuals can learn and generalize social competencies. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assesses each participant’s unique strengths and areas for improvement to create individualized goals.

We work on a wide range of skills, from non-verbal cues like eye contact and body language to complex interactions like resolving conflicts and understanding humor. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with the confidence and ability to form lasting friendships and navigate the social world successfully.

Social Skills Training is ideal for children, teens, and adults who struggle with social interactions. This includes individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, social anxiety, and other developmental or behavioral challenges that impact their ability to connect with peers.

ABA uses evidence-based strategies like direct instruction, modeling, and positive reinforcement to teach social skills. Complex social behaviors are broken down into smaller, teachable steps, and individuals are given repeated opportunities to practice these skills in a supportive setting until they become second nature.

A typical group may focus on skills such as initiating and responding to greetings, joining in play, understanding emotions in others, cooperating with peers, following group instructions, and handling disagreements constructively.
